Cloud Support Engineer

Remote - Quezon City, National Capital Region Philippines

The ideal candidate has knowledge and experience managing Azure Active Directory, Office 365 Users/Groups/Mailboxes, Azure Role-Bases-Access assignment to Azure Resources and On-Premises Active Directory deployments

Job Description

You will work closely with Engineers/Developers/Data Scientists, Application teams, and Infrastructure/Security teams to support the enterprise development and production infrastructures. 

Candidates should possess experience supporting public clouds, particularly within a Microsoft Azure Context. As a startup, Roots Automation offers a high-paced environment with ample growth and learning opportunities across multiple disciplines.  This role will have direct interaction with Infrastructure team (DevOps & Cloud), front-end/back-end development team, automation engineers and senior management.

Tools:  Jira as a ticketing system.

Responsibilities: 

  • Azure Infrastructure/Platform Services support

  • Response and triage of Azure support requests

  • Technical Documentation review and updating, as needed

  • Learning Roots Automation operations and continued support of new deployments

  • Take Ownership of Operational Tasks supporting Office 365 and Azure

Key Technology Requirements: 

  • Azure Active Directory: Users, Groups

  • Azure Compute: Manage, Administrate, and Support Compute Instances

  • Office 365: Manage, Administrate, and Support requests

  • Azure Back Up:  Monitor, Validate and Perform Restores, as required

  • Active Directory: Good understanding of Active Directory Schema, OU Design, AD replication topology, and experience with MS Advance Group Policy Management

  • Azure Cloud Services: App Services and Plans, Azure Functions, SQL Databases (PaaS), Key Vaults

  • Windows Server OS proficiency: Supporting current Windows Server OS distributions

  • Monitoring Experience: Ensuring smooth running and performance of all environments (CPU, Disks, Storage Space, etc…) across monitored services and infrastructure.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Intermediate / Advanced English skills (if English not native language)

  • Strong communication skills, time management and teamwork ethic

  • Understanding Technical Documentation – Written and Graphical

  • 2+ years’ Experience working in Helpdesk

  • 1+ years’ Experience in Azure Cloud Infrastructure and Services

  • Microsoft Trainings and Certifications

  • Looking to gain experience with Infrastructure as a Code (IaaS)

  • Excited to participate in supporting complex Cloud Infrastructure

  • Experience with Office 365 and SharePoint Administration is a plus
